Consignor vs Vendor vs Dealer vs Supplier - what's the difference
Consignor and vendor are used interchangeably but vendors are typically tied to a booth or rental space. If you upgrade to the Vendor Mall Plus plan you'll notice that on the consignment tab it now says Vendor. Future software changes are expected to separate / offer additional options for consignor and vendor.
In the Back Office, under Settings, Options the wording will also be changed to Vendor
Dealer can also be used interchangeably with consignor and vendor. Dealer was used when inventory entry was added to consignor access. It's also been updated to say Vendor with the Mall plan.
Supplier is typically used to describe a person that you are linking multiple items to regardless if the item is store owned or consignor owned. Suppliers can not be paid out. Stores typically pay up front so no split is tracked for suppliers. You can create an inventory report showing what is linked to them however.
