Error #1: Credit card machine reads: No devices connected to process request

The 'No devices connected to process request' error indicates that there's a disruption in the connection between your EMV device and the internet. To resolve, please follow the troubleshooting steps listed below:

  1. Make sure your device is still on and connected to the internet.
  2. Reset the card reader. Power it down for at least 30 seconds and then back on. Test.
  3. Power off the card reader again and then power off the modem and router for 30 seconds. Change the port the ethernet cable from the device is plugged into on the back of the router (if your device is wireless ignore this sentence). Power on the modem and router. Once you are certain the internet is fully reconnected (it usually takes several minutes) then power on the card reader. Test
  4. Make sure you have stable internet service. Can you get to other websites on your computer?
  5. Go to speedtest.net and test your download and upload speeds. Download and uploads speeds depend on the size of your store and its specific needs but here are some general guidelines:

    Small to Medium-Sized Stores
    Download speed: 25-50 Mbps

    Upload speed: 5-10 Mbps

Large Stores or Those with Advanced Needs
Download speed: 50-100 Mbps or higher

Upload speed: 10-20 Mbps or higher

If your internet is fast but not stable, drops off or has a high ping/latency, this will need to be resolved with your internet service provider.
  6. If the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps, you will need to contact your credit card processor
