EMV Device Setup

Once SimpleConsign or your integrated payments partner confirms that your credentials have been successfully entered into our system, please follow the steps below to complete your EMV device setup.

Access the EMV Settings

  1. Log into the Back Office section of the software.

  2. Navigate to Settings > EMV.

  3. If you manage multiple locations, ensure you select the correct one.

Add the EMV Device

  1. Click Find New EMV Devices.

  2. In the Click to add nickname field, assign a descriptive name to the device. For example, if device 5580 will be used at Register 1, you might name it "Register 1 - 5580".

  3. Click Save and Exit.


 

Pair the Device with the Terminal

  1. Refresh your browser, log into the Terminal side of the software, and navigate to the Admin tab.

  2. Select your credit card processor. You will see the list of EMV device nicknames you previously assigned.

  3. Pair each device with the corresponding terminal.



 

Perform Two Test Transactions

  1. Navigate to the Checkout tab.

  2. Before initiating a test transaction, restart the card reader by powering it off and back on. The device may reboot multiple times as it completes any necessary updates.

  3. Once the reader has restarted fully, proceed with two test transactions - one using the tap or chip function, and one using the manual card entry.  These test two different pathways on your device.
