The AI-Automated Item Entry feature leverages artificial intelligence to allow users to photograph an item using their mobile device, automatically generating detailed information such as description, pricing, category, and more based on AI recommendations.
Important: This feature is currently in tech preview and is available for Professional plan subscriptions only. During the tech preview, please keep the following in mind:
- Customers are limited to 1000 uses/month.
- This feature is for information only. Photos do not currently upload to SimpleConsign.
- Pricing for this feature is not yet finalized.
Please follow the instructions below to use the feature.
- From the Inventory tab, click on the green "+Add inventory" button.
- On your mobile device, use your camera to scan the QR code.
- Click on the yellow link that appears at the bottom of your screen. This will bring up a new web page.
- Tap on the picture icon.
- Take a new photo or select an existing one that best represents the item. For optimal results, we recommend taking multiple photos that clearly show the item's branding and barcode.
To take additional photos, click the picture icon again and repeat the process. - Once the photo(s) appear on the entry screen, select Research Item.
- At this point, the AI will search the web using the photo references to suggest information for your item.
- Modify the information as needed. If everything looks correct, click Approve and Submit. You can also select Restart to redo the process.
- After a successful submission, the inventory information will be added to SimpleConsign. Click Done in the upper right-hand corner to complete the entry.
Note: Photos do not sync to SimpleConsign at this time. - If you wish to continue using AI for inventory research, click on the photo icon again. A new item entry will be created in SimpleConsign when you scan a different item.
Note: The AI-Automated Item Entry web page will expire after 24 hours or until the batch is completed, whichever comes first. Please note that bookmarking the page or leaving the tab open in your browser will not extend its availability beyond this period. Once it expires, you will need to initiate a new batch by re-scanning the QR code in the item entry screen.
