Automatic Discounts

These discounts apply automatically at checkout. Below, you'll find a list of the different types of discounts and their definitions.

Definitions

Discount Schedule

A discount schedule allows for an item to be discounted based on how long the item has been on the sales floor. A common example is to discount items 10% after 30 days, 20% after 60 days, etc. This means the discount is relative to the item's start date rather than a specific date.

Category Discount Schedule

A discount schedule for a specific category. This allows specific categories to have a different discount schedule than the rest of the categories.

Category Discount

Discounts by category are a popular way to put groups of similar items on sale for a limited period of time. Commonly, jewelry or handbag categories may be discounted leading to Mother's Day or ties and suits categories leading up to Father's Day.

Tag Color Discount

Tag colors are a more free-form way of grouping items together. Discounting a tag color means any items with that color will receive the discount for the selected timeframe.

Consignor Discount

Sometimes consignors will want to put their items on sale all at once. This type of discount allows that and is more commonly used by antique mall style stores.

Manual Discount

Manual discounts allow a specific item to be discounted so you can pick and choose precisely.

Transaction Discounts

These discounts are manually applied at the time of checkout.

Definitions

Whole Transaction Discount

Discounts that are applied to the entire transaction via the discount % box.

Transaction Item Discount

Discounts that are applied to specific items in the transactions by either flat $ amount or a percentage.

Coupon Discounts

Flat $ amount discounts that are applied to the transaction total. Note that these discounts affect the store side only. Consignors will see their item selling as full price.

Coupon

These are discounts that are manually added at checkout for specific transactions.

Reward Points

These are discounts that are added at checkout when a customer is attached to a transaction and reward points are redeemed.
