We've redesigned the profile screen you use to view and edit consignor (and vendor) accounts. The new layout splits information into a Simple view — the day-to-day essentials most staff need — and a Detailed view for settings you set once and rarely revisit, so the main profile stays clean and there's less risk of changing something by accident.
A quick note on naming: this is the same underlying profile screen across all of SimpleConsign, but what it's called depends on your plan. On Vendor Mall Plus, these are called vendor profiles. On every other SimpleConsign plan, they're still called consignor profiles. Everything in this article applies to both — just swap the term for whichever matches your plan.
If you're used to the previous layout, you can find it documented in our original Adding and Editing Consignors article.
Legacy View
What's new at a glance
- Simple / Detailed View toggle — switch between the everyday view and the full settings view from the top of the profile.
- Click the pencil icon to edit — most fields are read-only until you select the edit icon next to them, which helps prevent accidental changes to an account.
- Clearer multi-location summary — the top of the profile now tells you up front how many of your locations this consignor or vendor has an account in, with one-click options to expand that list or add them to all locations.
- A few settings that didn't exist in the old layout at all — see new capabilities below.
Simple View
(Day-to-day view) includes: Contact Info, Multi-Location Options, Balance & Credit, Portal, Monthly Fees & Discounts (summary), and Consignor/Vendor Info (Store Split, ID, Account Type, Pay By).
Detailed View
Includes: Mailing Info, Contract selection, inventory-handling checkboxes (Do Not Discount, Never Expire, Credit Card Processing Fee), Bulk Update Inventory Splits, Additional Info (creation date, Tax Exempt, Tax ID Number), full Inventory Options permissions (Add, Edit, Withdraw, Print Labels), and the fully broken-out Fee/Discount fields.
New capabilities
A few things exist in the new profile that weren't part of the old layout at all:
- Regenerate button for the Consignor/Vendor ID.
- Reward Points shown per location, alongside Store Credit.
- Apply Credit Card Processing Fee toggle, grouped with the other inventory-handling checkboxes.
- Allowed to Withdraw Inventory and Allowed to Print Labels permission toggles.
- Account creation date, shown in Additional Info.
- Add to all Locations, to add this person's account to every location in one action instead of one at a time.

Old layout vs. new layout
| Old layout (single Add/Edit Consignor screen) | New layout | What's different |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Information — First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Organization, Email, Phone 1, Phone 2 | Contact Info (Simple & Detailed) — First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Business Name, Email, Cell, Alternate Phone | "Organization" is now labeled Business Name. Fields are read-only until you select the edit pencil. |
| Address — Street, City, State, Zip | Mailing Info (Detailed view only) | Same fields, moved into Detailed view since it's not something you change often. |
| Location shown via a single LOCATION dropdown at the top | Multi-Location Options — "Has accounts in X of Y locations," with Add to all Locations and Expand Locations | The new profile tells you up front how many locations this account exists at, instead of only showing whichever one location you happened to select. |
| Customer Credit table (Location, Store Credit, Modify) | Balance & Credit — Current Balance, Pending Balance, Available Credit, plus a per-location table (Location, Store Credit, Reward Points, Modify) | The per-location table now also shows Reward Points, not just Store Credit. |
| Other section — Loyalty ID, Tax Exempt, Tax ID Number | Split across two places: Loyalty ID now lives in the Balance & Credit box (Detailed view); Tax Exempt and Tax ID Number now live in a new Additional Info box (Detailed view) | Additional Info also now shows the account's creation date, which wasn't surfaced before. |
| CONSIGNOR ID field, plain text | Consignor/Vendor ID with a Regenerate button | You can now regenerate the ID directly from the profile. |
| CONSIGNOR ACCESS checkbox, plus PAY BY CHECK checkbox | Portal section — Invite status, Send Consignor Access Invite button, Username, Password, Portal Access dropdown, Log Into Consignor Access button; separately, PAY BY dropdown (e.g., Check, SimpleACH) | Access is now a full dropdown/status flow instead of a single on/off checkbox, and Pay By supports more than just Check. |
| Splits — three always-visible cards: Default Percentage, Flat Split, Tiered Split | Store Split shown as a single value (e.g., "40% Custom Flat") with a Set Split button | Same three split types are still available — they're just tucked behind Set Split instead of always taking up space on the screen. |
| Allowed to Add Inventory, Allowed to Edit Inventory checkboxes | Inventory Options (Detailed view) — Allowed to Add Inventory, Allowed to Edit Inventory, Allowed to Withdraw Inventory, Allowed to Print Labels | Two new permission toggles: Withdraw Inventory and Print Labels. |
| Inventory Added Is Marked as "Do Not Discount", Inventory Added Is Defaulted To Never Expire checkboxes | Consignor Info (Detailed view) — Mark Inventory as 'Do Not Discount', Mark Inventory as 'Never Expire', plus Apply Credit Card Processing Fee | Same two settings, now grouped with a new Apply Credit Card Processing Fee toggle and a CONTRACT selector in the same box. |
| Consignor Fees & Discounts — Monthly Fee, Fee Day of Month, Fee Description, Discount %, Discount Start, Discount End, all shown as open fields | Monthly Fees & Discounts — Simple view shows a read-only summary ("Fee: $0.00 monthly on the 0th," "Discount: 10% Active [dates]") with a single edit pencil; Detailed view breaks the same fields back out in full | Same fields under the hood — Simple view just condenses them into a glanceable summary instead of showing every input at once. |
| Bulk Update Inventory Splits (implied via Refactor Consigned Item Splits flow) | Bulk Update Inventory Splits button (Detailed view) | Now a direct button on the profile itself. |
