How Rent Is Collected
Rent can be deducted from a consignor's sales balance without Vendor Mall Plus. If you are not on the Vendor Mall Plus plan, there are two ways to collect rent:
- Deduct rent from the consignor's balance (automatic). When a Monthly Fee is set up on the consignor's account, rent is charged automatically and taken from the consignor's balance. This is the default behavior, and there is no setting to turn on. The Rental Fee Collection Strategy setting only exists on Vendor Mall Plus. The Monthly Fee can run on any day of the month, but a consignor can only have one recurring fee unless the store is on Vendor Mall Plus.
- Take payments from the consignor (pay in). Turn on Accept Consignor Pay-Ins and record the rent as a pay in on the consignor's account. See Enable Pay Ins below.
Because automatic rent is already taken from the balance, you don't need to subtract it manually when you pay the consignor out.

Select an Account
To pay in to a consignor account you'll first need to select the desired consignor. Single clicking on the consignor in the list will highlight the account. Click Pay In in the bottom right.
Types of Pay Ins
Pay in a specific amount
This can be used if the consignor needs to add a specific amount of money into their account, but there isn't a negative entry for exactly the amount they need to pay in already.
Pay in on specific items
This is the more desirable option for most cases as it immediately reconciles both the negative account entry that is being paid in against and the new positive one created by the pay in. This prevents an accidental payout that gives the money back to the consignor.

Completing a Pay In for multiple months rent
If the consignor is wanting to pay multiple months in advanced and you have the monthly fee already setup to pull rent (on any day of the month you choose) you can just pay in on the future days rent is charged. For example, the consignor wants to pay for June, July, and August - you would do a pay in for June 1st, July 1st and August 1st. This helps keep the account straight, if you do all those payments on a single day the account balance will be large and someone in the store might accidentally pay those funds back out.
Deposits: There isn't a deposit field so you'll have to do a negative account adjustment and then pay in to that account entry. This will result in a reconciled account so there isn't a balance. You can note under the consignor account whether or not the consignor has paid a deposit (this is important if you plan on paying that deposit back out). If you don't note it under the consignor you would have to look through months, years of account activity to find out if they paid a deposit.
